Art Update

At the beginning of the month I shared my new piece of art with you, and I’m sure you recall how I was contemplating the placement of said art.  I know you were very worried about it, and have been waiting on pins and needles (!) but I have figured out where the painting will reside!

Are you ready?

And the winner is…..

(Drumroll….)

Once my husband was able to help me hang the art up on the wall (as opposed to just sitting on the mantel) I knew that I loved it there.

Please forgive the horrible lighting in these photos – I tried to photograph the room on the dreariest day of the year!

I’m very pleased with the painting, and how it looks with my growing blue & white collection!  (Now to figure out what to do about those sconces… replace, keep, move them further in, or do away with completely?).

Be sure to check in with me next week as I share a project using Velvet Finishes paint… here’s a sneak peek!

Vintage Swap

Not that I never need an excuse to shop – but Paige from The Pink Clutch gave me the perfect excuse to head out thrifting for a fun Vintage Swap.  I signed up to go out and shop for a fellow vintage-enthusiast, Paige paired us up, and we shipped out our vintage surprises to our partners.  Can I just say HOW FUN this was?!

I was paired up with a fellow blogger with amazing style and a great eye for design: Shelly from ConfettiStyle.  Please check out her blog – you will seriously fall in love!

I was so excited to receive this box in the mail – I knew it would be something great!

Hobnail milkglass bowl from ConfettiStyle

How gorgeous is this hobnail milkglass bowl?  I was literally just talking about hobnail and how much I love it!  I am in love with the feet on this bowl, and the scallped edge.   I know I can find uses for it throughout the year.  Right now, it was screaming for some hydrangeas!

I wanted to keep this beautiful bowl in the center of my table where I can enjoy it daily.  I arranged some fern leaves and a mix of our hydrangeas in the bowl.  It is so sweet – it brings a smile to my face!

Thank you, Shelly, for this gorgeous bowl!  I will enjoy it for many years to come, and will always remember this fun experience!

Head over to ConfettiStyle to see which of these made it’s way to Shelly from Pursuing Vintage.

Blue & White and Green

We’ve had about four warm-ish days here in Virginia, and that’s enough to convince me (wishin’ and hopin’) that spring is finally trying to peek through that hot mess of a winter.  It has me thinking all about blue and white porcelain, and how pretty it all is, especially when used to hold flowers and greenery.

Here are a few pieces I have in my home right now:
